“But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.”
The tongue is a small muscle trapped in our mouth that never grows in size despite the daily exercise it gets from our talking. If it grows for every word we speak, it would have grown to be bigger than our entire being. But our Creator God has created it marvelously so that this muscle keeps its size as it is for most of our lives.
But despite this fact, we ought not bless and curse with it at the same time. Let our words be few and let those few words be blessings rather than cursings. We have tongues capable of making a difference.
Sure, other’s tongues may have stabbed us like that newly sharpened sword but let us fight with greater wisdom by watching over the words our tongues speak, that it not be poison to those who hear it, but rather one that nourishes the souls of those who hear it speak.
