“Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and [that it may be] well with you, and [that] ye may prolong [your] days in the land which ye shall possess.”
Walking with the Lord involves:
- Purpose. It is important that we have a purpose, that we know where we are going and who we allow to accompany us in our walk. Choose to walk with God, for if you do not, you will be like a boat steering in whichever direction the wind blows, without even stopping to think if it is the right direction towards your purposed destination.
- Progress. In walking, we cover a certain distance, we move from point A (origin) to point B (destination), hence we progress. With progress, however, we ought to strike the right balance. Not behind, not ahead, but just beside the Lord, holding his hand, letting him lead us, keeping our life’s pace at par with His.
- Perseverance. Whether our walk entails climbing up or down a hill or conquering a mountain, we must learn to walk with perseverance, keeping our destination in mind as motivation and moving forward with great anticipation of witnessing the grand unfolding of that beautiful destination – a feast for our eyes and a sight to behold – the kingdom which our Lord has so prepared for us!
Daily, may our feet walk and lead us closer to our Lord, to walk beside Him and with Him. Go and walk the walk!
